Heart exchange, more crochet and bread making.

Here is the Heart Exchange I sent to Melanie over at The PatchWork Robin Blog
I recently joined a Heart Swap over at Cheryls Gone Stitching Blog and this is what I sent my secret partner Melanie. We had to make something with a heart theme that included the persons name on it, so  I decided to make this little bag and added a heart embroidered brooch, a silk embroidered necklace, one of my crochet pin cushions and some polymer clay roses. I always seem to get carried away with exchanges, I just can't stop at making just one thing! I am glad to say Melanie loved what I made for her.

Stitching News

I have not been doing any cross stitch recently as I have been practising my crochet, I got a lovely delivery of wool this week, it was wool for crochet in gorgeous ice cream colours and I just love it! I have made a couple of granny squares but I am not sure what I am going to make out of them, I think it will be a decorative pillow for the guest bedroom.

I also saw a fabulous pattern for a crochet shawl that I fell in love with, I thought the pattern would be really difficult for a beginner but I decided to have a go at crocheting one of the squares just to see if I could do it, I was quite pleased with my first attempt, you can see the photo below.  Not that I will be crocheting this anytime soon as I have far too many things on the go at  the moment but it is in my to do list!

Hopefully I should make time for some cross stitching very soon!

Here is a close up picture of the embroidery, the pattern is a freebie from Michelle Ridgeways gorgeous designs, if you scroll down her blog on the right hand side you will be able to get the free pattern from there.

Here are the gorgeous ice cream coloured yarns that arrived this week, they are so yummy don't you think?
I love the softness of this yarn through my fingers , it feels so lovely.

This is the square from the shawl I was telling you about, it needs blocking yet but I am pleased with how it looks.

My darling husband has also been practising his bread making skills, I showed him how to make a loaf a couple of weeks ago and since then he has not stopped! Trust me his bread is better then mine, here is the one he made yesterday, it was soooooo delicious and creamy!
You can find the recipe from Paul Hollywoods book,
