Loop Knitting Shop In London, shawls finished and cross stitch pillows complete

Hi everyone, in May I had the pleasure of visiting the Loop Knitting Shop in London and I thought you may like to look inside the store, I am sure you will love it as much as I did!
Be warned there are lots of photos!
I did not buy much when I was there, not because I wasn't tempted (I only purchased a few crochet threads) but I simply dare not buy anything else for my craft room as there is enough stuff in there already! The photos for Loop are further down this post, first I will show you what I have been working on over the last few  weeks.

The inspiration to pick up my needles on my return did mean that my cross stitch took a back seat, however, I did manage to finish my Hands on Design  monthly subscription that the Fat Quarter Shop sent to me to review. I finally decided to finish them into pillows, they each measure 14" x 14", I interfaced the front fabric and the cross stitch with medium weight sew in interfacing and I was really pleased with the result.
I am awaiting the delivery of the June cross stitch which should arrive shortly.

After my visit to Loop I started to knit a shawl, I am a beginner shawl knitter so I wanted something easy, I chose the Boom Shawl from Ravelry and it was certainly very easy to knit, I loved it that much I cast on another one immediately in a different colour!

Here is the first one knit in gorgeous Autumn colours using Caron Cakes yarn which is available from Wool Warehouse in the UK but it is also available in America.

The Autumn colour I used is called Rainbow Sprinkles.

I purchased two of these shawl pins, I have one in my Etsy shop here

I blocked the shawl using some blocking mats, they are play mats which are much cheaper than buying knitting blocking mats and do the job just as well.

I purchased these from Amazon UK

I am so pleased I knit these shawls, they feel so nice to wear, I can see many more in my future, in particular for gifts as they are a quick knit!

The colour is Faerie Cake

I have seen the June Hands on Design from Fat Quarter. I like the colors they chose for June. You've done a beautiful job of finishing up the ones you have. They make beautiful pillows. I think I could spend all day in Loops in London. So much to see and play with. --Andrea

Your knitted shawls are wonderful, Lynn! Those shawl pins are so pretty too. And as for the! It looks like heaven, all those beautiful colours of yarn. I'd be terrible, not because I would want to buy everything (which I would) but because I have this overwhelming need to touch yarn :)

What a lovely post! I love the cross stitch pillows - are they from the Fat Quarter Shop in the US? Love the shawl and the fact that the pattern is a free one is even better! This is a knitting pattern I could do and I am not much of a knitter. I have not yet tried caron cakes - do love caron yarns. The yarn shop pictures are glorious - how do you keep your self control in a place like this?? What a great idea to use a playmat for blocking!
